Entertainment book

Every year, I purchase an entertainment book. I try to first find a local student or organization that is selling them to raise money and if I can't find anyone, I'll purchase them from a library or online. Most of the time, more than one organization is selling them. I've never thought that $25.00 is expensive for the huge book of savings, though I've heard some people complain. I suppose that if you tend to not take advantage of the savings that the entertainment books offer, it would not be worth spending the money to purchase one. However, I tend to get more than my $25.00 back in savings over the course of the year.

My husband and I are definitely not rich. We're also not poor. When we want to go out to do something, I like to first check in the entertainment book to see if there are any savings. Since entertainment books are usually geared towards your local community, I can always find a restaurant or some form of entertainment that is offering savings. I'm a big fan of nice restaurants. Of course, most "nice" restaurants that offer an elegant setting are a tad expensive. There are some great savings in the entertainment books for these really nice restaurants. Most times, it almost equals getting one meal for free. That is wonderful when you're both getting steak and you can save $20.00 off of your bill. We try to visit the nice restaurants that are offering entertainment book savings as opposed to other nice restaurants that we'll end up spending our paychecks just for a wonderful meal.

The entertainment books offer discounts on almost everything - from travel to family portraits. I have discovered though that although the entertainment book claims that it can save you large amounts of hotels, that isn't always true. In fact, in my personal experience, I have found the their prices are equivalent to most travel sites that are on the internet. That part of the entertainment book doesn't impress me with it's misleadings. Of course, the rest of the coupons and discounts make up for it easily and quickly.

My husband always steals the golf discount coupons out of the entertainment book as soon as I purchase one. He keeps them in his car "just in case" he gets the chance to go golfing. He's saved quite a bit of money on green fees by having those coupons every year. I've saved lots of money from various restaurants, clothing stores, car rentals and more. It certainly has been worth my time and money to purchase an entertainment book.
