Where To Find The Best Daredevil Comic
Most comic superheroes are physically perfect specimens but Marvel comics have an exception. The Daredevil comic features Matthew Murdock, a.k.a Daredevil and he is blind. He is one of the most interesting heroes in the comic world, in the way that he copes with his disability and psychological problems. The stories are very dark and include subjects such as drug abuse. They also tackle social issues. Murdock suffers nervous breakdowns and fans identify with his struggles.
The legendary Stan Lee created the strip, along with artist Bill Everett and the first Daredevil comic story hit the magazine stands in 1964. Murdock had been blinded when he performed a heroic act, saving a man from the path of a speeding truck. He was exposed to radioactive material and his journey as a superhero began. He found that other superhuman senses had developed, including the ability to sense objects in the manner of sonar and he also has radar perception. Another sense helps him in his dealings with people as he can sense other people's emotions. This assists him in tense situations and he also puts it to good use in poker games.
Murdock decides to put his unique gifts to work. He is fit and agile, so he dons the mask and costume and becomes his alter ego, Daredevil. He lives in Hell's Kitchen in New York City. This is the world of organized crime and dangerous villains. Murdock's many adversaries include Elektra, Bullseye and the Kingpin. The Daredevil comic uses martial art in the stories, as Daredevil is an expert. When he's not fighting crime, he does find time for romance but his relationships have brought him heartache. His affairs include one with super heroine The Black Widow. It seems that Daredevil will never settle down with kids and a picket fence. His women tend to end up dead, almost dead or they cannot cope with him and they leave. Murdock also has a day job as a respected attorney and runs a legal advice center for people who can't pay.
Many different writers and artists have worked on the strip over the years. It didn't achieve popularity until Frank Miller contributed in the late 1970s. Miller is the king of the comic strip and he brought the noir style, which he is famous for. He also put ninjas into the mix. Film director Kevin Smith of Clerks and Dogma fame, also wrote stories for the Daredevil comic.
The popularity of Daredevil continues, although the 2003 movie titled Daredevil did not do well at the box office. Our hero was played by Ben Affleck and it co-starred Jennifer Garner and Colin Farrell.
