Where To Find Books Used

Enjoy your college years while you can. This is a time for nuances, exploration, random fun, studying, partying, and idiotic behavior. Actually now that I think about it, not that much idiotic behavior. We don't want to forget what we're attending a University for in the first place. It comes down to one main goal. You need to get that education, and more importantly, that degree. Oops, did I say that? Uh, disregard that last remark. Anyway, on a serious note, college life is about new experiences with new friends, and acquiring the tools you need for a bright future. Needless to say, this can get pricey. And I'm not just referring to the friends you buy when you join a frat or sorority house. I am referring to the costs of tuition, housing, food, and text books. These things all require some serious funding. One thing you can do to make life a bit easier is purchase books used each quarter or semester.

I hated buying books each quarter during the college years. Not because I had to stroll on over to the campus bookstore; not because I had to search for them amongst endless texts; and not because the line was always a mile long. I disliked this routine for one simple reason. They RIP you off. And I'm talking big time. You will soon discover the benefits of purchasing books used and NEVER new. Take this example; I went in one quarter to buy a history book. It cost 60 dollars new. Sadly they were sold out of the used ones, which ran 32 dollars. Oh well, I had to buy the book regardless. So I did and I used it as much as needed. Then it was "buy-back" time. I lugged all my books back to the campus bookstore to get some much-needed cash. Now comes the tragic ending. They gave me 8 dollars for the book. Now, keep in mind, they won't buy it back at all if it's not going to be used next quarter. Therefore it obviously was. So basically they will sell this and many other books used for jacked up prices like 32 dollars. Get the picture?

Here is an alternative route to buying books used from the campus bookstore. Purchase them online at Amazon.com or some other less expensive website. This way you can save some serious dough. After all, the campus book store keeps all that profit, and none goes back to the writers.
