Where To Find The Best Books For Kids
One thing we need more of in this entertainment-infused world is reading. And not only just reading itself, but the desire to read as well. This used to be such an outstanding past-time that individuals yearned for; so what happened? Oh wait; I'll fill you in on what happened. It's a little something called television. Not that television isn't great and all, but we watch far too much of it. Especially in America, kids are viewing TV at all hours of the day. There are so many other options at-hand. So instead of allowing your children to watch television show after television show, why not purchase some exciting books for kids?
It's all about what you love. The whole spiel about children not enjoying reading is bogus. Children do love to read IF they attain the right books for kids. Subject matter is crucial. Take my daughter for instance. My wife and I have each found a way to relate to our daughter with books for kids. While she introduced her to Junie B. Jones, I introduced her to Goosebumps. She loves both! However, we can't trade and read the opposites with our daughter. Junie B. is something solely for her and her mother to enjoy, and scary stories are only for me and my daughter. It may sound kid of funny or odd, but that's the way kids are. They have plenty of routines and habits. They like to keep things a certain way. It's definitely a comfort zone for them. Change is not always good if you're a child. And this is why we've gone through countless Goosebumps stories and Junie B. Jones books.
Make it exciting. When you find the right books for kids, your child will look forward to reading and being read to. This often means letting them choose their first books. When they get to decide, they're much more likely to participate. Just to shed some light, I can get my daughter to turn off the TV at any given time. All I have to say is "Hey, let me read a Goosebumps story to you." She ditches the TV in nothing flat. I get as much into the reading as I can. This way she sits on the edge of her seat, always wanting to hear more. This is what reading and books for kids are all about. Read more to your children! It's a great way to spend time with them.
