Tips For Chosing The Perfect Book Bag
The time will come very shortly when I have to buy my daughter a book bag. She will be starting school for the first time next fall, and I know she will need something to go back and forth from school. She might not have a lot of books to put in it just yet, but she will need to take things with her when she goes to school, and there needs to be something there so she can bring home papers without having to worry about her losing important messages and her projects from school.
It used to be very easy to choose a book bag for your kids. In the last ten years or so, changes have been made in many schools about how they view the bags that children bring to school. Because of school violence and shootings, many schools only allow children to have a certain type of book bag. I know that the school I attended now only allows children to have bags and backpacks that are see through. They must be made of mesh or clear plastic so teachers and administrators can easily see what is inside the bag.
I don’t really have a problem with that, but I don’t know what my daughter’s school district might require. I have seen children with a book bag walk by, and so far I haven’t seen anything out of the ordinary. They may not have the same strict rule as the school I attended when I was younger. I may be able to get her anything she wants, and that may be a problem. She might choose one thing, but she may not like it for very long. She’s strange like that. She always changes her mind.
I’m going to have to explain to her that she needs a book bag that she can easily carry, and one that see will like for some time to come. I can’t afford to go out and get her a new book bag six times a year. Most children are happy with one, and don’t give it much thought, but I’m afraid my daughter is different. I don’t know what is going to happen when she is in high school and needs five hundred pairs of jeans. That’s the life of a parent, I suppose. Through in ins and outs she will go through, I guess the trauma of having a book bag she no longer likes might be the least of her worries.
